Starbuck & Associates Limited is the data controller for the personal data of learners and clients. We handle personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018. This policy explains the standards we work to. Our Privacy Policy gives the full detail of what we collect and your rights.
Our principles
We collect only the personal data we need, use it fairly and for clear purposes, keep it accurate and secure, keep it no longer than necessary, and respect your rights over it.
What we hold about learners
Your name and email address, your order and enrolment details, your progress, knowledge check results and certificates, any feedback you choose to give us, and messages you send us. Card payments are handled by our payment provider; we do not store your card details.
How we use it
To give you access to your learning, track your progress, issue your certificate, support you, meet our legal and accounting duties, and improve our programmes.
Confidentiality
- We never sell personal data, and we do not pass it to other organisations for their marketing.
- Access is limited to the people at Starbuck & Associates, and the suppliers working under contract for us, who need it to provide your learning.
- Where your employer has bought your place, we may confirm your enrolment, progress and completion to them. Programme feedback is shared with organisations only as an anonymised summary.
- We do not put learner names or personal details into AI tools. See our Use of AI statement.
- Coaching conversations are confidential, in line with the ICF Code of Ethics.
Security
Starbuck & Associates holds ISO/IEC 27001 certification for information security management. Our controls include restricted access, secure login, supplier checks, staff training and an incident procedure. If a personal data breach occurs that is likely to put you at risk, we will tell you and the Information Commissioner’s Office as the law requires.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete, restrict or transfer your personal data, and you can object to how we use it. Email admin@starbuckassociates.com. We respond within one month. Our Data Protection Officer is Paul Starbuck. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
