The Career Transition Diagnostic is a free self-assessment for leaders at a turning point. It helps you see where you are ready to go next, and what to do about it. It takes around 12 minutes and gives you a personalised report on screen as soon as you finish.

What it does
The diagnostic asks you about how you are leading now and where you want to go next. It then scores two things and shows them side by side:
- Your readiness across eight transition capabilities, grouped across leading yourself, leading others and leading through change
- Your appetite for each of four possible routes: stepping into a bigger seat, moving towards the boardroom, moving into coaching, and leading change in your organisation
Where your appetite is high but your readiness is lower, you have a development gap to close. Where both are high, you have a route worth pursuing now. The report tells you which is which, and points you to the programmes and support that fit where you are.

Who it is for

Your report
Your report appears on screen the moment you finish. It gives you your scores across the eight capabilities, a chart plotting your appetite against your readiness for each of the four routes, and practical suggestions for what to do next. You can print it or save it as a PDF.
Your privacy, and your answers
- Registering creates a free Starbuck Academy account. We hold your name and email address in the Academy, and we can see who has taken up the diagnostic.
- The diagnostic itself is separate. It is scored entirely in your own browser: your answers and your report are never sent to us and are not stored anywhere.
- We never see how you answered or what your report said.
- Because nothing is kept, your report is available only while the page is open. Print it or save it as a PDF before you close the tab.
- Signing up for marketing emails is a separate, optional tick at the checkout. Your access does not depend on it, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
