Starbuck & Associates is committed to making sure that no learner, client or prospective learner is treated less favourably because of a disability, and that disabled people can take part in our programmes as fully as anyone else. This policy reflects our duties under the Equality Act 2010, including the duty to make reasonable adjustments.
Our commitments
- We do not discriminate against, harass or victimise anyone because of disability, whether physical, sensory, cognitive, a long term health condition, a mental health condition or neurodivergence.
- We design our online learning so that it can be used in more than one way, and we keep improving it.
- We make reasonable adjustments when asked, and we do not charge for them.
How our online programmes support access
- Learning is self paced, with 12 months’ access, so you can work at the speed that suits you and take breaks whenever you need them.
- Lesson videos are short and have closed captions, which you can switch on with the CC button.
- Every video lesson is supported by written lesson notes, so the learning does not depend on video or audio alone.
- Workbooks, tools and guides are provided as downloadable PDFs that can be printed, enlarged on screen or used with assistive software.
- Programmes can be used on a computer, tablet or phone, and work with browser zoom.
- Knowledge checks can be retaken as many times as you need.
Asking for an adjustment
Tell us what would help, before you enrol or at any point in your learning, by emailing hello@starbuckassociates.com. Examples include materials in an alternative format such as large print or an editable document, a transcript, extra support with a knowledge check, or adjustments to a coaching session. We will reply within 5 working days and agree with you what we can put in place. What you tell us about a disability is treated in confidence and used only to support you.
Live sessions and coaching
Where a programme includes coaching or live sessions, we will ask about access needs in advance and adapt the format, timing and materials where we reasonably can.
If something is not accessible
Please tell us. We will put it right for you where we can and use what we learn to improve the programme for everyone. If you are not satisfied, please use our Complaints Procedure.
